Justice. Equity. Diversity. Inclusion.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region has proudly served Mid-Michigan since 1954. While our programs have changed as we have grown, our mission has remained the same; we believe that when every young person has access to positive mentorship, it transforms their lives for the better- empowering them with a stronger sense of belonging and the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Our program has always operated on, and will continue to operate on our BBBSMCR Core Values:

We are safe. BBBSMCR creates physically and psychologically safe environments for youth, families, caregivers, and staff. Our culture provides safety to explore all ideas and topics, learn about other perspectives, and support one another.

We are advocates for youth. BBBSMCR advocates for youth. We support our youth, we care about our youth, and we are committed to our youth. We are committed to serving and supporting our youth when they need us most and to helping our community be a home for everyone.

We have an impact. BBBSMCR is adaptable. We use a growth-mindset to continuously explore our program and operations and adjust for the biggest impact on our youth and our community. We believe that evaluation, reflection, and flexibly allow us to meet the needs of our youth and make a lasting impact on the lives of our Littles.

We are a community. BBBSMCR works collaboratively. We believe that our youth and families are best served by a community. Coming together as a greater whole, we support our staff, board members, donors, funders, partners, youth, and our families; we support one another and work together to make an impact on our youth and in our community.
